Personal tours of Graveney School – South London News


Graveney School organizes its Online Virtual Open Event for 7th grade students on Wednesday. October 13th from 9:30 a.m. and Thursday, October 14th until 8:30 p.m.

From Monday, October 11th, the school will also offer 6th grade students the opportunity to book personal tours of the school.

Graveneys The virtual open event of the upper level will take place on Tuesday, October 12th, from 5 p.m. The upper level also offers current 11th grade students from other schools, accompanied by their parents / legal guardians, the opportunity to to book a personal tour for the week beginning October 18th.

Graveney benefits from a beautiful, leafy campus consisting of 11 buildings including a former Georgian mansion, a Victorian school building, several architecturally interesting blocks from the 1960s, an award-winning new build that opened in 2016 and a second new build that was completed in September 2019, which includes 10 humanities classrooms and an observatory.

This ultra-modern Oppenheim observatory received the New London Architectural Award in 2020.

Graveney Has been rated ‘excellent’ 5 times by Ofsted. In 2019 (the last time students were publicly examined), 91% of our students at GCSE achieved a grade of 4 in English and math.

These results were exceeded in the last two years and with 50% of all grades from 7 – 9 Graveney is in the top 10% nationwide for achieving the goal.

Perhaps more importantly, this success is shared across the school community, which means that all of our students can confidently move into their next phase of their learning from their different starting points.

Graveneys 7th grade students come from a variety of local schools, with the vast majority of students living locally.

In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, a wide range of sporting, musical and cultural extracurricular activities are offered to ensure that students are well rounded and encouraged to distinguish themselves in various areas of life.

Particular emphasis is placed on outdoor education. The school is one of the largest Duke of Edinburgh centers in the country and participation in these awards fosters confidence, resilience and a close community within the school.Graveney High school students benefit from the collegial flair of the campus, which enables a well-supported transition to the university and the world of work. The upper school attracts a diverse spectrum of students, both from its own 11th grade and from other schools, who quickly settle into a closed academic community in which aspirations are encouraged and opportunities are celebrated.

Students primarily attend higher education, with a large number of students attending Russell Group universities.

The school is among the top 20 schools in Inner London and among the top 10 public schools for inclusion in Oxbridge; In 2021, nine students will take up places in Oxford and Cambridge, including for medicine. Students make excellent progress and success in all of its forms is valued.

Graveney virtual open events will be held online on Tuesday, October 12th, for prospective high school students, and online on Wednesday and Thursday, October 13th and 14th, for prospective 7th grade students.
